Over the past five years, Radiology has sponsored a drive to raise money for charitable causes as a part of National Radiologic Technology Week. This year, individuals in the department formed small groups to put together over 50 "theme" baskets. Themes for the baskets included Holidays, Hawkeye Sports, Let's Party--just to name just a few. The contents of the baskets were donated by Radiology faculty and staff, and local area merchants. The baskets were then auctioned off to the highest bidders. All totaled, the fundraiser brought in over $7,300. Proceeds were donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City.
The Iowa City Ronald McDonald House provides a safe supportive “home away from home” for families with children receiving critical medical care in Iowa City.
