The Department of Radiology has been helping local low-income families during the holiday season since 1999. This year’s donations, totaling approximately $2,200, went to Head Start children and their families in the Iowa City and Coralville area.

development program that serves children through the age of 5 from low-income families. These are child focused programs that have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children.
Those donations helped to provide 40 local Head Start children with warm hats and mittens, a book, and small toy. Coats, boots, and shoes were given to those in special need of those items. Twenty-five dollar gift certificates to local grocery stores and merchants were also given to over 20 families. Some of the gift certificates were donated by Cub Foods, Target and Hy-Vee
