Program Information

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has 900 beds and is closely allied with a 200-bed Veterans Administration Hospital on the same grounds. Both hospitals serve as major referral centers for the Midwest. The Department of Radiology consists of 64 staff physicians and 36 residents. Last year these hospitals performed approximately 291,000 radiological examinations.

The Breast Imaging Fellowship Program currently offers a one-year fellowship with opportunities for participation in clinical research and teaching. As one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, UIHC has a growing screening and diagnostic breast program, including an active image-guided intervention facility. Candidates must have completed an accredited residency program and be board certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. Women and members of minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
